Ha, and as if on cue, the LYS near-ish my office downtown just sent an email announcing a 20% off sale all weekend. Uh-oh!

Repurposing and thrifting are the name of the game in our very limited income household! Here's what I've been doing (with varying success, I must say): Salvation Army and raveling. I made a cowl (http://listeningandlaundry.blogspot.com/2010/01/casting-on.html) and am using some more of the yarn to make a poncho (the shrug I started just looked weird, so I re-raveled it). I can fill you in further on some of the pitfalls that I've encountered if you're interested.

Can't wait for pics of the bike cozy!!! I think that maybe you should make some wrist-warmer-type things for the handles, too!

When I was teaching myself how to knit everything I read saw was in the English style with the working yarn in the right hand. However, it didn't feel right. So the yarn ended up in my left hand and things felt more natural. If a professional knitter looked at my technique they could probably point out a couple dozen things I'm doing wrong. However I can't be doing things that wrong as I'm still making things.

Well the sizing chart does say 18-20 so you should be good. If not you can always fall back on that old gift giving stand by, "He'll grow into it."
