I’m stretching the definition of craft to include cooking for purposes of this blog. I don’t think it’s completely out of line, given the creative and made-by-hand nature of cooking done right.
Thanksgiving was a complete success. Bo and I were on our own for the holiday this year, and as much as we like turkey, even the smallest one would have overwhelmed us with leftovers and ultimately gone to waste. So, we decided to try our hand at duck. A duck feeds 2-3 people, is sufficiently “special” enough for a holiday, and would go well with cranberry sauce. continue reading…
I am so bad at knitting when the piece is boring. Right now I’m working on a very simple hooded baby blanket for my newest nephew. It’s a pretty color but the bulk of it is just straight stockinette and I can barely summon the will to do a couple rows at a time. At this rate I’ll never get it finished by Christmas, let alone this plus all the other holiday projects I have in mind…
