I’m struggling right now with a hat I’m making for my nephew. I have the pattern for the Lil’ Devil Baby Hat. The pattern gives no indication of size – just the word “baby” in the title. My nephew is two years old, so he’s not really a baby anymore.

I’m stretching the definition of craft to include cooking for purposes of this blog. I don’t think it’s completely out of line, given the creative and made-by-hand nature of cooking done right.
Thanksgiving was a complete success. Bo and I were on our own for the holiday this year, and as much as we like turkey, even the smallest one would have overwhelmed us with leftovers and ultimately gone to waste. So, we decided to try our hand at duck. A duck feeds 2-3 people, is sufficiently “special” enough for a holiday, and would go well with cranberry sauce.

I am so bad at knitting when the piece is boring. Right now I’m working on a very simple hooded baby blanket for my newest nephew. It’s a pretty color but the bulk of it is just straight stockinette and I can barely summon the will to do a couple rows at a time. At this rate I’ll never get it finished by Christmas, let alone this plus all the other holiday projects I have in mind…
I am feeling the need to learn intarsia soon.
